Grilling It Outdoors, New Release by Pizazz Pixels

It has been a busy week!  I am so glad it is Friday so we can take a little breather!  It has been so hot where we live so we have been trying to keep cool indoors.  There was a big downpour of much needed rain, thoug,h which lasted about 10 minutes so at least the temperature dropped a bit and the grass and flowers got a little drink!  Now as I write this post, it is still 90 degrees at 10:41 at night! Yikes!

Here is my latest release--"Grilling It Outdoors" which is a huge collection of different ways that you can cook over an open fire.  All items are in greyscale so you can add your own colors, patterns, textures, etc. to create some unique elements to fit in perfectly with YOUR photos!

An Aquamarine Night to Remember Quick Pages

First of all, my heart and prayers go out to all those affected by the severe weather--especially in Oklahoma!  What devastation!  We had some very humid weather and severe thunderstorm alerts and even a brown out but nothing in comparison to those who lost lives, homes, and everything!

I had some requests to do some quick pages for my latest release so I spent some time designing them--12 to be exact.  Now you can celebrate, and save time scrapping those special occasions too!  Here they are:

These are available at all my stores

Steampunk Style Anyone? - New Release "What's Old Is Gold"

If you have wondered what I have been up to lately, I have been challenging myself to a new design style--Steampunk in between Soccer practices and games and the Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts.  I was first introduced to this term about a year ago when one of the students that I tutor mentioned that she used this style to design her new home. This style has been becomming more and more popular lately so I thought I would try something outside my "normal comfort zone".

With anything, I looked to the definition for a starting reference point.    Here are some basic facts about Steampunk....

Anything modern (latest modern technology, fashion or gadgets powered by or inspired by steam and the 1800s era (Industrialized Western Civilization during 19th Century)  My interpretation is taking something old and bringing new life to it by making it modern. The Punk part of Steampunk (romantic Victoriana, goggles, and brass fixtures)
As a designer, I like this definition …. “The “punk” in “Steampunk” comes from going against convention that, through creativity and declaration of one’s individuality be it through style, gadgets, or attitude, sets one apart.” (The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences)  (http://www.ministryofpeculiaroccurrences.com/what-is-steampunk/)
It did take quite a bit of time for me to begin and then I slowly becan to develop some items that fell into the Steampunk style.  As a few weeks rolled by, I began to get more comfortable and the ideas started to flow easier and I started to design the elements and papers using ideas and inspiration.  By the time I was finished. I was quite happy with the results if I do say so myself!
So, drum roll please, here is "What's Old is Gold"....

Inspired by “Steam Punk”, Vintage, and Grungy Styles, this kit will bring new life into preserving past, present, and future memories!    It is available for the special price of $2.75 during the Month of May so you can save 21% right now at my stores:

Newly Released Kit in Store--Year in Review: February (Love Struck)

For all those that have a sweetheart in their lives, I present the second installment of my Year In Review series--Love Struck.  (Can you believe Valentines Day is just a few short weeks away?  Our six year old has to address his Valentine cards to his classmates and I'm glad we got the list early because he is going to need the extra time to write all those cards by hand!)

Newly Released Kit - Year in Review: January (Candy Cane Lane)

How many out there in digi land are keeping to those Project 365 resolutions to take photos and/or create a layout?  This year is the first year that I actually designed a Project 365 type series since I just started designing a short time ago.  I am super excited about it too!

January is a time for new beginnings and this kit will certainly allow you to celebrate all of those special events (New Year’s celebrations, snow days, birthdays, etc.).  The color scheme chosen came from a traditional winter favorite—the candy cane so some of the elements were designed around this tasty treat!
This kit is a part of a monthly 365 Project Series which can be mixed and matched for unlimited scrapping possibilities. I already know the color theme for each month (included in the kit is a preview of  the colors that were used in designing the kit for each of the 12 months).

Newly Released Kits for November

Here in the United States, we are experiencing a few of the last remaining nice days of fall.  The weather has been warm during the days and we have had some exceptionally great weekends with a lot of sun!  I really enjoy everything about fall--the colors, the smells, the holidays, and the many opportunities to get outside to the cider mills.

I recently designed some papers, elements and alphabets for all these wonderful fall related activities which you might be enjoying with others right now.  These kits would also be great to count down to those days leading up to that wonderful holiday towards the end of the month--Thanksgiving.  Go ahead, showcase all those preparations and traditions like choosing the gathering place, selecting the menu, decorating the home, setting the table, or planning other related activities which occur before the festivities even start.

Okay, you have probably heard enough, here are the new releases:

Newly Released Mini Kit - Creatures of the Night

In two short weeks, some people over the world are going to celebrate Halloween.  Before this evening of trick-or-treating, parties and festivities are taking place at schools and at homes all over the states.  I could not resist designing a mini kit which you can use to document all of those special Halloween celebrations.  Here is the kit...

This kit could also be used to showcase those beautiful fall evenings.  (Before darkness falls, beautiful colors of pastels fill the skies to form those memorable sunsets.  As it gets later in the evening, it gets darker and darker out until the sky appears black.  This is the time when the creatures of the night take over in search of food and/or adventures.  This mini kit focuses on two of these creatures--the cat and the bat as well as the elements of the night. )

New Kits in Store - Project 365: Fall Months, Parts 1 and 2

Happy fall everyone!

Where I live, the air is crisp and the leaves are falling from the trees--a sure sign that Fall is underway and winter is not too far off.  The cooler temperatures and the beautiful colors are the inspiration for my latest kits...

Both kits were designed around the Project 365 theme with a focus on the Fall months. (Are you keeping up?) You can capture all of those memories which occur during the fall months with these kits full of rich fall-like colors.  The elements are generic enough to complete any layout of fall festivities, Thanksgiving preparations, and other activities that occur during the months of September, October, and November.  Those days of the week elements or that date strip alone will help document all of those preparations leading up to those special festivities.

You can grab both kits at my store:  My store at Digi Style Designs
