My First Blinkie - Please Enjoy and Share!

Hi everyone

I have to admit that technology and me often do not get along!  Whenever I try to learn something related to web pages, HTML, blinkies, banners, I end up getting frustrated, stressed, and then I get ticked off if nothing seems to work!

Well, I wanted to get an early start on one of my New Year's resolution which was to create a fan blinkie for myself!  It was not easy but after finding instructions on six different web pages, I finally figured out how to create a blinkie.  (Well, it is a static image because the animation part was not an option for me.)  Even better, I finally (after about 3 hours) figured out how to place this blinkie on my blog and even better, get it to link back to my blog if someone were to click on it.

Here it is folks, my first created Blinkie

This blinkie is located at the right of this blog.  I would really appreciate it if you would grab it if you like/love my designs.  Even better, it would help me so much if you could share it to help me get my name out there in digital land!

Thanks so much and Enjoy!  (One resolution done and it isn't even 2013 yet--so happy)

New Release - Cabin in the Woods - Winter Times

Well, December is here if you can believe it!  2013 is almost around the corner!

Here in Michigan, with the usual four seasons, we have yet to see a big snowstorm.  I cannot believe I am saying this but I miss the white stuff!  Instead of those beautiful wintery flakes, we are getting milder temperatures, rain, and a few very cold days--but no snow!

I missed the snow so much, I had to design a kit to celebrate the wonderful winter weather.  Here is Cabin in the Woods - Winter Time.

If you are one of those that love winter, snow, reindeers, or just relaxing in a cozy home, this is the perfect kit for you.  You can purchase this kit at these two stores.

My Store at Digi Style Designs:

My Store at Divine Digital

If you want a coordinating freebie to this kit, see the post below.  You can complete a challenge at Divine Digital (12 Days of Tradition Africa Challenge) and earn this little mini kit if you post a layout using my Holiday Celebrations Around the World:  Kwanzaa freebie kit by December 31st:

Enjoy and I'll be crossing my fingers for some wintery flakes!

Freebie Alert--"Mini Kit Freebie" An Early Holiday Gift - Holiday Traditions Around the World:

Over at Divine Digital, there is a big holiday event  happening:  12 Days of Traditions.  You can learn about holiday traditions all over the world.  Even better, you can grab some amazing kits for free!

I chose Africa to focus on because I found out that Kwanzaa mostly is a holiday which focuses on sharing, community, and family--all great things in my book.

Here is the preview of the kit which I designed based on the symbols and traditions surrounding Kwanzaa.

If you like this kit, you will need to head on over to Divine Digital so you can get this kit for free

As a special bonus, you have the opportunity to grab another freebie which I created.  If you complete the challenge posted in the Challenge section at Divine Digital using the above kit and post a layout by December 31, you can earn this little kit:

I cannot wait to see what you can create using the Kwanzaa kit which I designed!  Have fun!

New Arrival in Stores!--Time for Tea Anyone

Hi everyone

How is everyone doing after the big feast, Black Friday, and the preparation for Cyber Monday?  Our Thanksgiving was spent with family and I survived hosting the dinner this year!  Everything turned out very good!  My only disappointment was the main course--I wanted to try something different besides Turkey because my dh does not prefer it so I bought a roast and tried to prepare it in a roaster.  It turned out too dry and flavorless.  Lucky for me the side dishes were all hits because the meat was unmemorable!

Anyways, I have designed my latest kit based on an earlier entry for a designer contest which I was in a while back.  May I present Time for Tea Anyone.  It is a kit which focuses on the English tradition of tea time and should appeal to all those who enjoy a good cup of tea!  (It would make a great stocking stuffer too--a digital gift certificate for a friend, hint hint)

This kit is available at:

My Store at Digi Style Designs:

My Store at Divine Digital

Now go  ahead and warm up with a warm beverage while you look through the numerous adorable elements contained in this beautiful kit.

P.S.  I thought you might enjoy a freebie to get a taste of this kit so I will give you the direct link to the freebie which I offered for the contest a while back (see an earlier post for the preview).

Round 2 - GDS Entry: Freebie Mini Kit - Learn to Cook

After receiving some positive feedback about my designs for the designing contest over at Go Digital Scrapbooking, I am happy to announce that I am moving on to Round 2!  This is where the competition heats up and I really have to rely on everyone and ask for their help in pushing me forward to I can move on to the next round!

For Round 2, we were given the following photo from which we had to create a color theme from (6 colors)

We also  had to use "Bucket List" as the theme which kind of threw me for a loop--I had a hard time coming up with a list of things that I wanted to do in the future.  I started off with the travel thing but that was more of a long term dream so I went with something a bit more short-term--Cooking.  I went with this theme because it has been a dream of mine to sign up for cooking classes.  I definately could use a little help in this area and I often look at cooking shows, recipe books, and magazines for inspiration and tips.

Since Thanksgiving is coming up, I decided to relate my cooking mini kit to this holiday.  Here is the kit which I designed for Round 2:

Before grabbing this kit, I would really appreciate it if you could do the following 2 things so I have a better chance at Round 3.

1.  Leave a comment/reply in the thread where the download links can be found.
2.  Use this kit to create a layout.  (I was hoping that you could scrap a favorite family friendly food).  Post the layout to this gallery (Go Digital Scrapbooking)

If I see that there are bunches of comments and there are some layouts using my kit, I WILL give you a reward--a free blog add on which relates to this kit.  This add on will include a dessert, by the way—and a few other yummy goodies) and I will post it on Friday, November 16th if you can help me out a bit!

Thanks so much!

Round 1 - Freebie Mini Kit: Monkeying Around

Well, I just finished my first entry for Go Digital Scrapbooking's Designer Contest and I will admit that I had a lot of fun with this one!   I just loved the color scheme for Round 1--such earthy colors--my favorite!

With the colors given, I thought of the outdoors first and then I began thinking about jungles when I saw those brown tones along with the green, blue and yellow!  Since the color inspiration came from a kid's bed, I thought of an animal which many young kids and those young at heart love--monkeys!

Since part of the judging is based on user comments, I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment in the gallery---(a slight bribe--if I get loads of comments, I will offer a Blog Add-On Freebie this Wednesday)

Here is the link to the gallery where you can find the download link.

New Release - Year in Review (November): Fall Fun

I am happy to announce that I have just finished designing my biggest kit yet!  It has 23 papers and 40 elements which are all designed uniquely by me!

This adorable kit includes an overabundance of adorable autumn/fall themed papers and elements to highlight the wonderful rich colors of fall and everything that surrounds this wonderful season!

And just in time too!  I am lucky that I designed this kit towards the beginning of the month when the weather was more fall like.  As I write this post now, the weather in my state is a cold 52 with wind gusts and cloudy skys and no signs of any leaves left on the trees :(  At least I took lots of photos of our own fall fun and I can use this kit to scrap all my memories!

This kit is available at all my stores.  I have also posted some sale dates so you can take advantage of that while you still can!

My Store at Digi Style Designs:
(Sale of 70% ALL kits which means this new release is only 1.25 until October 31 at midnight.)  (Ok so this is my special treat to you for Halloween and it contains no calories too!)

Freebie Mini Kit - Time for Tea - A Tribute

Well, it is the start of another week, the last week actually, of October.  You know what that means, I have a freebie mini kit for you!  I just completed my Week 4 entry over at Scrapping FairyTales.

Here is some background behind it:

I found it a little difficult to start this particular challenge—It was hard for me to pick just the right theme to relate to Europe.  I started with the Italian pizza idea, thought about doing something with the Loch Ness Monster and then started to think about Italian desserts like Cannoli’s and Tiramisu.  After a few days, I changed my mind again and wanted to focus on the street cafĂ©’s and bakeries that serve such yummy goodies.
When I started designing the beverages for my baked goods, I started to focus on one particular hot drink—tea which is a popular past time in Europe.  After doing some research on tea, I stumbled upon some studies which showed that green tea, in particular, minimizes the risk of breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men.  After I stumbled upon this discovery, I knew the direction my kit should take!  Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted to pay some small tribute to all of those, including me, who are affected by cancer in some way (either a survivor, a family member or friend who knows someone who suffers from this terrible disease, or you have a loved one or a friend who has passed away because of cancer).  Here is Tea Time, A Tribute.  (And a special toast too, “Let’s Pray for a Cure”)
Here is the preview:

Here is the link at Scrapping FiaryTales where you can pick up this mini kit free:
Gallery where you will find the download link

Oh yes, I wanted to actually start something on my blog for this particular kit.  In the comment section of this post, I would like to see you pay tribute to those who are affected by Cancer in particular.  If you are a survivor, share your message of courage, strength, inspiration, or difficulties.  If you are a friend of someone, share how you have helped your friend deal with this disease.  If you know someone who has died because of this terrible disease, please share a happy memory or pay tribute to them in some way.  (If you want to give me ideas on colors for a full sized kit, please feel free to do that too.  Lastly, I would like to design a guy version of this kit so please let me know of some colors--green tea minimizez the risk of Prostate Cancer in men according to some studies.)
